Hi there friends,
Be surprised, this isn’t a review of a NetGalley ebook! Shock horror, I know. In fact, this is a free download which I obtained from Amazon for my Kindle. I downloaded lots of books to take on holiday with me a few weeks ago and this was one of the fun reads I chose to take with me! It was definitely a good pick too, as it claims to be a cozy mystery it sounded like my cup of tea. It certainly was too, here’s my review of the book…
Talia has been moved from foster home to foster home all of her life. At age 18 she had never been so desperate for freedom and independence, but she was oh so wrong to do so. After being involved in a car rash, Talia has amnesia and cannot recall the events leading up to the incident. The journey to discovery involves a haunted house, family history and the ‘oh so gorgeous’ Kyle. What secrets lie to await you in Pajaro Bay?
This was a lovely heartwarming read and I found myself really empathising with the protagonist, Talia. All of the characters are realistic and relatable which made for enjoyable reading! I love mystery books and this was a great mystery/romance book. The ending is really lovely and I challenge you to work out whodunnit – I certainly didn’t! The romance was a little cliched though but that was the only part which was at all predictable.
This would be a great book to take on holiday to read. It’s a short enough novel that you can read it in a day and is perfect for by the pool or on the beach! I loved that the author donates 10% of the book’s profits to various charities and hope to read more of her work in the not so distant future!
If you want to get yourself a copy of the book from Amazon UK, the link to do so is HERE. Unfortunately it’s no longer a free download, but keep your eyes peeled, you never know what’s moving and shaking with Amazon’s prices. Let me know what you thought about the book in the comments if you’ve read it! Please remember to like the post if you enjoyed my review, it puts a big smile on my face to know people enjoy reading my reviews!
Happy reading,
Anna xx
