Hi there friends,
Here’s my review of a book which I am very excited to have access to from NetGalley. One of my favourite authors and an exciting new book series! This book is the second in a series and at the time when I read and wrote this review I was not aware of this fact. Though it made sense as a stand alone book, it probably would have been more enjoyable having read the series in order. Just in case you wish to read the first book in the series, Unbreakable, you can get a copy of the book from Amazon UK HERE.
I received a copy of this book by the publishers via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Life was going smoothly, well relatively as far as life goes, for Kennedy. One day can change everything. Her father left her and her mother. Soon Kennedy learns that things in her family aren’t always what they seem. Could she be the fifth member of the Legion? Or maybe she has a different destiny that awaits her.
Demons, darkness, adventure and turmoil – all the ingredients of a great supernatural book! Team that up with a brilliant author – remember ‘Beautiful Creatures’? It’s well worth a read! Great style, pace and writing flair makes this a really fun and relatively short holiday read.
The only disappointment I experienced with the book and why I did not give the book five stars was the ending. It was, well, rather abrupt and I didn’t really anticipate that being the book’s end. At a guess, this was done as there will most probably be a sequel to continue this series as no answers have been provided and the book is left at a point of decision. Two high risk options, neither easy but she is forced to make a decision.
Nevertheless, this was a really enjoyable book and I recommend it if you fancy a quick, quirky and fun supernatural read!
