Hi there friends,

I’ve just had the pleasure of reading the wonderful new book by Marianne Dubuc, ‘The Bus Ride’. Not only is she a greatly talented illustrator, her talents also include children’s storytelling! This is definitely a children’s author who will be looking out for in future.

I received a free copy of this book from the publishers via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a beautifully illustrated story which evocatively captured a young girl’s travels to her grandma’s house. In a similar fashion to Red Riding Hood, Dubuc has a greatly entertaining story with a comical wolf who has acquired a taste for the girl’s biscuits! With all the adventures on her bus ride from her house to her grandma’s, one thing is for sure – she will certainly have a story or two to tell when she finally arrives at her destination.

The one thing which really makes this book stand out from others of its type are the illustrations. They are beautifully drawn and coloured in a way which will really appeal to young children. It’s bright, engaging and all the key features which draw children into reading at a young age. A fun read and one that I’d recommend.

If you too would like tor purchase a copy of the book to read, you can do so from your local bookshop or alternatively one of these online retailers: Amazon UK or Barnes and Noble. There’s plenty more shops out there so don’t limit your selection and please support local retailers.

Happy reading,
Anna x
